Eden, North Carolina, May 5, 2005 – Xenia Technologies, Inc. announced today at the “Eden Business Expo 2005” that it has formed a training partnership with Eden based eTLC, LLC (Eden Technology Training Center).
eTLC, established October 2004, provides desktop application training, such as the Microsoft Office suite of products, along with basic computer skills training. “One of the main reasons we started eTLC was to provide computer application training to our local citizens impacted by recent plant closings. By partnering with Xenia Technologies, we will be able to offer competitive IT certification training to the community. Having an IT certification, such as an [MCSE] from Microsoft will prepare individuals for a rewarding career in information technology.” said George Robertson, president, skills development, eTLC. “Until now, if a local resident wanted that level of training, they would have to pay considerably more money and go to a much larger metropolitan city like Raleigh or Charlotte for the nearest training classes.” Instructor-led day and night classes will be held at the training facility shared by Xenia and eTLC in Eden.
Xenia Technologies is an IT training and network consulting corporation. Originally founded in Olympia, Washington by principal owner, Jim Robertson, a native of Eden, he relocated the company headquarters to Eden in December 2004. “When I heard the news of companies like Dell and FedEx moving to the Piedmont area, I knew that there would be a demand for more IT professionals there. I also knew that there would be many that would not have the skill sets, yet alone the certifications to meet the requirements for the jobs that are to be filled.” said Jim Robertson. “When companies like these relocate, they want to hire locally as much as possible. This reduces their costs and gives great opportunities to those in the local job market.”
The combined efforts of Xenia and eTLC will provide computer training services that benefit those in need of vocational retraining, those desiring to change careers and will also assist those seeking to enhance their existing computer skills and increase their education.
