Jeffrey has been a systems and software engineer since the early 1970’s. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from National University with a major in Computer Science.
Jeffrey has developed application software using Microsoft Visual Studio. They have been written in C++, C#, and Visual Basic languages and some have connected to Microsoft SQL 2000 databases. One of the largest projects included development of a quality-control system using table-driven software to perform statistical and acceptance tests of data collected from ARIA---Automated Radio Immunodiagnostic Assay---Instruments. Effective communication between team members including Biochemist staff was required for successful completion of this project.
His systems engineering experience with Operating systems include Sun Solaris, Red Hat Linux, SuSE Linux, Network Appliance ONTAP, AT&T SVR4 UNIX, IBM AIX, HP-UX, Windows (2003, 2000, NT, XP). He has configured network protocols for LAN's including TCP/IP with XDMCP, NIS, DNS, SMTP, IMAP, POP3, NFS with automounter, and CIFS. Jeffrey has installed, configured, and administered UNIX and Windows based systems and application software packages including Teradata (an SQL based data warehouse), Microsoft SQL server 2000. DBA functions performed for a 2 Terabyte Teradata database system and a 100 Gigabyte Microsoft SQL server 2000 database including software installation, configuration, patch installation, user security setup, application access and setup, and database table definition. Jeffrey has developed UNIX shell scripts, Perl scripts, C, C++, and programs to perform automated functions. Web pages developed with links to provide documentation for systems configurations and active data.
